Liu Residence

New single family residence located in prime Capitol Hill neighborhood in Burnaby North.

The simply organized house was arranged on two levels, with the lower floor cut into the sloping land + a basement suite, and parking garage. The steep sloping terrain and expansive views of the downtown Vancouver, the Ocean and the North Shore Mountains were essential in defining the form of the house. Two linear volumes intersect at the main entry space connecting the guest and master wings. The material palette complements the natural setting of the house; wood siding, stone clad walls and expanses of glass create a strong connection to the landscape.
